Presented in this lot are two (2) Vintage Middle Eastern Daggers, circa 19th to early 20th century. The first is an Omani Sterling wrapped Saidi Khanjar Dagger. Most Saidi daggers differ from other Omani styles by having complicated and fine filigree work on the scabbards and hilts. The intricate detail as seen on both the scabbard as well as the hilt is truly impressive. The back of the scabbard is covered in leather. The second dagger is a Bone Handle Syrian "Damascus" or "Magdal Shams" type Khanjar with a Slotted "snake tongue" blade and copper inserts. These type of daggers were produced in the region known as the Golan Heights in the southwest corner of Syria. The sheath is embossed copper with geometric designs. The daggers and scabbards are in nice preserved condition. The Omani Saidi dagger measures 7.5"L, the blade is 3.25"L, 8"L in the scabbard. The Syrian Magdal Shams dagger is 8.75"L, the blade is 4.75"L, in the scabbard 9.25"L. Combined weight is 8oz.*
