Featured in this lot is this opulent 13.17 carat Tanzanite, diamond, and 14k white gold ring with AIGL and GIA paperwork. The ring features a polished, stamped, and tested 14k white gold construction with a total weight of 11.9g and the 'Orianne' hallmark and 14k gold stamp. The center stone is a huge, round brilliant cut tanzanite center stone with a measurement of 13.61mm - 13.84mm x 9.67mm; it has a bluish violet coloration, is transparent, and has a total weight of 13.17 carats. The center stone is profusely decorated with a sunburst and halo decoration with pave shoulders and a total of 52 round brilliant diamonds; the diamonds have a color gradient of G – H, a clarity of SI1 - SI2, and a total of 2.53 carats. Tanzanite is a very rare precious gemstone that is only found in the Usumburu Mountains that border the Umba Valley of northern Tanzania. It was originally discovered in 1967 by Tiffany & Company, who named the stone Tanzanite. This example is unique due to its exceptional pleochroism (an optical phenomenon in which a stone has different colors when observed at different angles). GIA (Gemological Institute of America) Tanzanite Grading Report#: 2215343206. The piece comes complete with AIGL Inc. (American International Gemological Laboratories, Inc. a GIA certified lab AIGL#: K16E995-EA15053) report and appraisal, confirming the above info and giving a total value of $42,487.00. The ring size is US 6 1/4.
