Featured in this lot is this exceptional 4.20ct Tanzanite and VS2 diamond, 18k white gold ring with AIGL paperwork. This ring shows one polished, stamped, and tested 18k white gold ring frame with a wonderful example of lattice work to the under gallery, an 'Orianne' hallmark, and a 18k gold stamp next to the hallmark on the inside of the ring band. The ring shows a center stone of pear modified brilliant cut tanzanite with measurements of 12.6mm x 8.7mm x 6.5mm, a collective weight of 4.20 carats, bluish violet coloration, and a very good cut grade. Tanzanite is a very rare precious gemstone that is only found in the Usumburu Mountains that border the Umba Valley of northern Tanzania. It was originally discovered in 1967 by Tiffany & Company, who named the stone Tanzanite. This example is unique due to its exceptional pleochroism (an optical phenomenon in which a stone has different colors when observed at different angles). The center stone and pave shoulders are lavishly decorated with 34 natural round brilliant cut diamonds that have measurements of 1.3mm - 1.5mm, a total weight of 0.45 carats, a color gradient of G – H, and VS2 - SI2 clarity. The piece comes complete with AIGL Inc. (American International Gemological Laboratories, Inc. a GIA certified lab AIGL#: K38E37-15522) report and appraisal, confirming the above info and giving a total value of $11,525.00. The ring size is US 7.
