This is an original work of art by renowned Montana artist Ace Powell. Ace Powell (American 1912-1978) was a famous Montana painter, sculptor and etcher who focused on the American Indians, cowboys, horses and wildlife of our great Big Sky state. His artwork was influenced by fellow Montana artist, Charles M. Russell. Ace was married to Nancy McLaughlin-Powell and father to Dave Powell. This Powell sketch depicts a Native American male roping a wild mustang while bareback. The bottom of the sketch is signed Ace Powell and numbered 15/100. The piece measures 13” x 11” with the visible artwork measuring 7 ½” x 5 ½”.
