This is an original Bull Durham Smoking Tobacco advertisement litho sign dating to circa 1910-1920’s. The piece is paper ephemera done on hard stock showing the iconic image of two Black American lovebirds kissing through a torn hole in the umbrella. The piece is good color and is well preserved in a wood frame. Marked, "My! It Shure am Sweet - Standard for Three Generations - Genuine "Bull" Durham - Smoking Tobacco. Bull Durham original authentic advertisements, such as this piece, are exceedingly rare with some examples selling for over $12,000 at auction. For reference see the sign sold by Chup Antiques in 2022 and the nearly identical example sold by Rich Penn in 2021. The measurement of this framed advertisement is 34 3/4" x 26 7/8" and the visible art measures 25 1/2" x 18".
