Included in this lot is an original Carl Tolpo, Temple Mountain oil painting from 1965. Carl Tolpo was born in Ludington, Michigan in 1901. During the course of his career, he established his reputation as a portrait, genre, and landscape painter, as well as a portrait and figure sculptor. As a painter, his works in fine oil portraiture particularly include State portraits and landscape oil paintings of the western USA, mostly the Yellowstone Park region. His works is on display in the National Museum of Wildlife Art in Jackson Hole, Wyoming. In this painting, Tolpo portrays green trees leading up to the snow-capped, rocky Temple Mountain located in Banff National Park in Alberta, Canada. Towards the bottom right of this painting is Tolpo’s title of the painting, "Temple Mt". On the back, Tolpo describes the painting as "Temple Mt. to Lake Louise Banff Can. Tues Aug 10-65 2-3pm C.T.". This piece measures 12" by 16".
