For your consideration are two daguerreotype portrait photos in their original cases circa 1850-80s. These photos show no artist signatures. The first in this lot is missing the front cover. The photo shows a middle aged man wearing a heavy jacket looking directly towards the viewer. The photo is surrounded by an intricately designed, gold colored frame. The second in this lot features the full case, but the front is completely detached. The case shows a faux leather construction and shows embossed floral designs on the front and back. The interior shows a red cloth fabric on the left side, acting as a cushion for the photo, while the right side houses the photo in a gold colored frame. The photo shows an older man dressed nicely. He looks towards the viewer with no smile on his face. The cases show a fair amount a wear from their age and use over the years, but the photos show good condition overall with little wear present. The cases measure 3 11/16" L x 3 1/4" W. The collective weight of both items is 159.2 grams.
