Offered in this lot is an Original Signed Acrylic on Canvas by Leigh Gusterson, signature at the bottom right corner. Leigh Gusterson has been painting “plein air”, outdoors, in the Taos area for 30 years. Her colorful, bold shapes and swooping compositions depict not only the images of northern New Mexico, but the joy and funkiness of the place as well. Leigh’s work is widely collected nationally and internationally. The paintings of Leigh Gusterson are filled with winding roads, sprawling mountainsides, and sprouts of colorful trees that dot the landscape. Viewers can spot a car chugging down the road, often with a dog poking its head out the window to catch a glimpse of the vibrant world around him. Using bright, bold oil colors, Gusterson's paintings are depictions of the landscape, peppered with crumbling adobes, old trucks, horses and sheep, but the joy and love is expressed in her use of vibrant colors, her loose, energetic brushstrokes, and the swaying lines and forms which lend a sense of movement to her compositions. This original painting is in exceptionally fine condition, no marring noted. The wood stretcher and hardwood frame are in good overall condition, minimal scuffing noted to the frame edges, no other obvious marring noted. Visual art measures 27.5"W x 31.5", frame is 36"W x 40"L
