Presented in this lot is an Original Signed Contemporary Watercolor, signature is on the bottom right corner. Painted in the impressionism style, the painting depicts a park scene where a couple of Bocce games are being played under a canopy of trees. Having developed from games played in the Roman Empire, Bocce developed into its present form in Italy and it is closely related to British bowls and French petanque, with a common ancestry from ancient games played in the Roman Empire. Impressionism can be defined as having three main elements that distinguish it from other types of art. These are its depiction of light, its brush strokes, and its open composition. Secondary to this are its focus on movement or subject matter of the everyday. This watercolor is in exceptionally fine condition, a marvelous example of Impressionism. The professionally mounted metal wrapped wood framed double-matted painting features an "en plein air" perspective, and is bright. Slight scuffing noted to the frame edges, no other obvious marring noted.
Visible art measures 9"W x 12.25"L, frame measures 16.75"W x 19.5"L x 1"D
