Featured in this lot is an Original Signed Oil Painting on Panel, Pronghorns and an Approaching Storm. In the wide open country of the American West, the Spring season brings life to the prairies through the regularly appearing rainstorms that nourish the plains. Indigenous to the Great Plains, Pronghorn are one of North America’s most impressive mammals. Not only do pronghorn have the longest land migration in the continental United States, they also are the fastest land animal in North America. Pronghorns range from southern Saskatchewan and Alberta, Canada south into the western US. The pronghorn antelope can be found grazing on open fields throughout Montana. This oil painting captures the impressive majesty of two pronghorn bucks in the foreground, the older one obvious by the size of his horns, three does running behind it. As the prairies stretch out, in the far background are visible two mountain ranges with slender strips of winter snow still covering slopes. This oil painting is in very nice preserved condition, the artist's signature device is visible on the bottom center right. The rustic wood frame is in very nice condition and lends itself well to the subject matter. Visible art measures 17.25"W x 23.25"L, frame is 23"W x 29"L x 1"D.
