Featured in this lot we have an original watercolor painting by Crow Native American Indian artist Leland Stewart in his iconic horseback warrior design. Leland Stewart, a Montana native, is a member of the Crow Nation, Whistling Water Clan and the High Hawk Society. He graduated from the Institute of the American Indian Arts in 1975. Stewart's artwork is featured in in Montana fine art galleries and beyond. This painting shows a War party of five Crow Warriors all on horseback standing on a grassy landscape. The painting also features a geometric "Blanket Strip" design across the bottom of the piece. The piece exhibits Stewart’s unique style of bright, vivid colors and personal interpretation of his Native American Indian heritage.
