Included in this lot is an original watercolor painting by Crow Native American Indian artist, Leland Stewart. Stewart is a member of the Crow Nation, Whistling Water Clan and the High Hawk Society. He graduated from the Institute of the American Indian Arts in 1975. Stewart's artwork is featured in Montana fine art galleries and beyond. Many of Stewart’s works can be found at the Sam Terakedis Fine Art & Jewelry Gallery. Some pricing examples of his art include: $6,200 for Two Sisters in the Bear Paws, $5,500 for Uncle Buffalo, and $6,000 for The Visitor. This painting displays a group of six braves on horseback, each holding spears, with a dark cloudy sky behind them. The painting also shows a geometric “blanket strip” like designs running along the bottom of the piece. The painting exhibits Stewart's unique style of bright, vivid colors and personal interpretation. The piece is signed in the lower right corner, "Leland Stewart 2020". The watercolor is in very good condition. The art measures 24" wide by 18" tall.
