For your consideration original Witney four point blanket circa 1900's. While many Americans are familiar with the Hudson's Bay Company's (HBC) iconic point blankets, Early's had been making trade/ point blankets much longer. Edward Early and John Early and Sons were two among many blanket makers in the small town of Witney, in Oxfordshire, ancestral home of the traditional British wool trade. The Earlys, among other blanket making families in Witney, supplied HBC with trade blankets as early as the early 18th century. In the 1920's a rivalry started between Early's and HBC. Early's had begun making point blankets under their own name (Earlywarm)as well as supplying point blankets to non-HBC outlets. In the 1980's the company name was changed to Early's of Witney. Early's shuttered its doors in 2002. This Early's Witney Point blanket is a four point blanket and features the traditional trade blanket stripes in indigo, yellow, red, and green. The condition of this blanket is good with no obvious signs of damage and in good usable condition. The measurements of this four point blanket is 83" x 63".
