For your consideration is this original, WWII Japanese Rising Sun flag with repaired, leather corners and brass grommets. The original Rising Sun Flag, featuring a red sun disc with 16 rays, was adopted in 1870 as the war flag of the Imperial Japanese Army and in 1889 as the naval ensign of the Imperial Japanese Navy. It symbolizes the "land of the rising sun" and was heavily used by the Japanese military until 1945. This flag shows good condition overall with repaired / replaced leather corners and grommets. It measures 58 1/4" L x 40 5/8" W and weighs less than 6 ounces.
