Featured in this lot are two original, Paul Krapf oil on boards of seaside scenes from the mid to late 20th century. Paul Krapf (1927-2019) was a wildlife and landscape artist from Gardiner, Montana at the southern end of the beautiful Paradise Valley north of majestic Yellowstone National Park. His house and studio were built along the Yellowstone River 11 miles north of the park. The inhabitants of Yellowstone National Park were his frequent subjects. He also produced coastal views, especially Oregon’s, as well as Western scenes and landscapes. The first in this scene shows a beautiful coastline scene with a house in the foreground and two light houses in the background. Sunlight breaks through sections of the cloudy sky creating beautiful light beams shining over the ocean. It is signed in the bottom right in black paint reading, "Krapf". The second piece is set in a poster board frame and shows a similar coastline scene to the first. Mountians and/or cliff faces can be see in the background on the left hand side. Dark clouds are being pushed out by lighter ones and bright, clear skies. The piece is signed in the bottom right in black reading, "Krapf". The peices show good condition overall with little to no wear present and no signs of damage is noted. The first and unframed piece measures 18" L x 24" W, while the second poster board framed piece visible art measures 14 1/2" L x 21 1/2" W, while the entire piece measures 21 1/8" L x 27 1/2" W. They have a collective weight of 2 pounds and 14 ounces.
