For your consideration in this lot is a fine pair of art deco style, carved solid wood horse heads. The horse heads are carved with a roached mane, their heads tucked, teeth bared, and ears pricked. These horse heads show solid wood construction. One horse has a repair to one ear. The rich grain and stain of the wood helps to give life to the horses. The horses are 14" tall x 4 1/4" wide and 10" long. On the bottom of the horses’ base is a carving of what appears to be a social security number; this was a common practice in the 60's and 70's to prove ownership if an item was ever stolen. The horses show very fine workmanship and are in very good condition.
