Featured in this lot pair of books on Native American Indians. The first book is a 1909 First Edition of “Famous Indian Chiefs” by Charles H. L. Johnston. The book is a collection of biographies of famous chiefs such as Pontiac, King Philip, Tecumseh, their histories, battles, treaties, sieges, and struggles with the whites for the possession of America. Featuring an illustrated cover, exhibiting scuffing and fading to the covers, intact pages, loose spine, age tanning observed. Measures 6"W x 8.25"L x 1.75"D. The second book is, "The Story of the American Indian" By Paul Radin. First printed in 1927, this is the 1944 "Enlarged Black and Gold" edition, with a 1934 preface from the author. An account of Indian culture from the rise of the Mayan civilization, and of the great tribal movements that have taken place on these continents. Featuring an illustrated gold gilt hardcover with slight scuffing noted. Intact deckled pages with age tanning, measures 6"W x 8.75"L x 1.5"D. Collective weight is 3lb, 10oz.
