Available for your bidding pleasure we have a pair of Yanowamo Indian hand woven baskets. The Yanowamo tribe of Native American Indians are indigenous to the Amazon Rain Forest in South America. The larger basket is called a burden basket and would be used to gather wild food or harvesting crops. This basket shows tightly woven material and good quality. It measures 11" tall X 12" in diameter. The second basket also shows a hand woven flat basket. This basket shows a looser weave but exquisite work and good condition. It measures 5" tall X 17" in diameter. This lot also includes a book on the Yanowamo Indians written by Professor Hap Gilliland.
