For your consideration is a Papago Indian hand woven round basket, circa 1940's to 1950's. The Papago Tohono O'odham (People of the Desert) are located in Arizona and are known for their weaving skills. The piece shows a geometric pattern with nice, tight weaving in very good, well-preserved condition. The patterns on the basket show a tan and brown/red color with geometric designs, including triangles and diamond shapes. The basket measures approximately 12 1/4" in circumference x 4 1/2" in height.
