Included in this lot is a Papago Native American Indian, hand woven coil basket. The Papago Tohono O'odham (People of the Desert) are located in Arizona and are known for their weaving skills. This basket displays a traditional coil design and is primarily constructed out of Yucca and Bear Grass. The piece features geometric designs in colors of black and burnt yellow. The basket displays a wonderful, tight weave with a stripped pattern along the rim. The piece shows good condition overall, with some light wear and a spot of discoloration towards the center. It measures 11 1/4" in diameter by 3" tall.
