For your consideration are two original photographs of a group of miners, notably Perry "Bud" Sanders, a prominent figure in the mining world of Tombstone, Arizona in 1900. Perry Tillman "Bud" Sanders was born in 1887 in New Mexico. He was killed in a mining accident in the Silver Thread Mine in Tombstone, when he received a fracture at the base of his skull. The photos show him surrounded by various miners and he blends right in with them. The first and smaller photo is a real photo post card and shows a smaller group of miners posing for a photo in a mine. The back is marked reading, "Bud Sanders and his friends". The second photo is larger and shows a much larger group of miners posing for a photo as they hold their lunch pails. The photos show good condition overall with some wear present from their age and use over the years, but no signs of damage is noted. The smaller photo postcard measures 3 3/8" L x 5 1/2" W, while the large photo measures 4 3/8" L x 6 1/2" W (entire piece measures 8" L x 10" W). They have a collective weight of under 6 ounces.
