Featured in this lot is this two volume set of the Personal Memoirs of Gen. W.T. Sherman, Written By Himself, with an appendix bringing his life down to its closing scenes, also a personal tribute and critique of the memoirs, by Hon. James G. Blaine. The set includes Volume I & Volume II both published by Charles L. Webster & Co. New York in 1891 and from the press of Jenkins & McCowan. Front inscribe like, or autograph, portrait engraving. The condition of this two volume edition is well preserved with some slight wear to the cloth wrapped cover of both volumes with some wear to the spine consistent with age and shows browning to the pages consistent with 19th century books. The measurements of each volume is 9 1/4" x 6 1/8". The collective weight of this pair of books is 5lb 2oz.
