Featured in this lot is this framed lithograph called "River at Dawn" by National Artist Peter Hurd born in 1904 and died in 1984. The artwork features a wonderfully and professionally crafted lithograph construction that shows a river at dusk that shows a homestead on one side of the river with a thicket of trees and a hillside in the background. Peter Hurd (1904-1984) was an American painter known for his realistic depictions of the American Southwest, particularly New Mexico. He was born Harold Hurd Jr. in Roswell, New Mexico, and became a prominent figure in the regionalist art movement. Hurd's work often captured the landscapes, people, and daily life of the Southwest, reflecting his deep connection to the area. Peter Hurd’s work has been widely exhibited and is held in numerous public and private collections. His paintings are celebrated for their authenticity and for capturing the spirit of the American Southwest. The condition of this Peter Hurd lithograph is good with no obvious signs of damage and shows good overall condition. The measurements of this lithograph is 8 1/4" x 10 7/8" and the visible artwork measures 6 5/8" x 9 3/8".
