Featured in this lot is this Indian head bronze circa 2002 from Utah artist Peter M. Fillerup born in 1953 and died in 2016. The bronze features a wonderfully and professionally crafted bronze construction that features a circular hardwood base. The bronze is is of a Native American man from the shoulders up wearing traditional adornments along with earrings in its ears and hair done up in a traditional style. The bronze is signed on the left shoulder with Peter M. Fillerup's signature and is dated 2002; on the back of the bronze is marked 11/12. Peter M. Fillerup (September 4, 1953 - August 2016) was an American sculptor. He was trained by Utah sculptor Avard Fairbanks. He designed a sculpture of Porter Rockwell, who served on the Council of Fifty, as well as lighting fixtures for 20 LDS temples, including the Payson Utah Temple and the Lima Peru Temple. In 1997, he designed the Hilda Erickson Memorial Statue, a public statue in memory of all American pioneers in Grantsville, Utah. The condition of this bronze is good with no obvious signs of damage and shows good overall condition. The measurements of this bronze are 13 1/4" x 5 1/4" x 4 3/4".
