For your consideration in this lot is a pewter sculpture of Confederate General Robert E Lee by noted sculptor Frances J Barnum’s Civil War collection. The piece is titled "Lee at Antietam". Lee, while seated on a horse, is handing another mounted soldier a rolled document, most likely orders for a subordinate officer during the battle at Antietam, also known as the battle of Sharpsburg. Lee's horse is being held by the reins by a young boy. This limited edition is an example of the artist's fine detailing. The sculpture is in fine condition without noticeable marring. It measures 9" L x 6.75" W x 5.75" H.
