For your consideration is this collection of eight photo postcards and nineteen real photos from the American West and Native American life circa 1870s to 1900s. The photo postcards show various scenes and are titled, "M 100. Indian Squaws dressing dogs for dinner", "89. the Custer Battlefield as it is today", "Bronco Busting", "M 339. Cowboys at dinner on the range", "Evening meal on the claim", "Harvesting grain raised without irrigation", "M 308. Round up horses watering" and "M 319. Wife Wanted A Cowboy washing clothes". All of the photo postcards are colored and haven't been used. The real photos show various scenes and people and were taken by various photography companies. The first was taken by C.F. Autenrieth and shows Charles I of Württemberg posing for a portrait. The second was taken by L.E. Walker and shows Rev. J.H. Vincent, D.D. posing for a side profile portrait. Three photographs were taken by A.L. Child Studio in Grinnell, Iowa and show three young men posing for front facing portraits. They are well dressed, have combed and slicked hair and one man sports a mustache. Two photos were taken by Joseph Forward that also show two, well dressed young men. Chas. L. Walker presents one photo in this lot showing a well dressed young man. There is one photo that is unmarked but shows a similar style as the other photos. It shows a young man posing for a portrait in his nice clothes. One of the larger photos shows two brothers posing for a photo as one holds a fiddle and the other holds a banjo, presented by B.L. Wilson. The second larger photo, presented by the Kilburn Brothers, is titled, "Burro Pack Train on the way to Leadville, Col., U.S.A." and shows a pack train making its way through the mountains with mules loaded up with supplies. There are eight Native American photos of the Crow Tribe. The photos take place on and near Custer's Battlefield and show various scenes such as, Crow kids doing a war dance, Crow members posing for photos and Crow standing on Custer Battlefield doing a war dance. The photos and photo postcards show good condition overall with some wear present from their age and use over the years, but no signs of major damage or wear is present. They measure from 1 3/4" L x 2 5/8" W to 6 1/2" L x 4 5/16" W.
