Featured in this lot is this Pima Indian hand woven beargrass basket, circa mid 1900's. The basket features a traditional design and construction of the Pima Indians with lightening patterns adorning the lid and the side walling of the basket. The Pima are a group of Native Americans living in an area that is now central and southern Arizona, as well as northwestern Mexico in the states of Sonora and Chihuahua. The condition of this lidded basket is fair, with unintentional paint marking adorning the lid and the side walling of the basket. The piece measures 8" long by 4" wide and 3" tall.
