Featured in this lot is this “Pioneer's Against Indian Slaughter” signed watercolor, circa 1800's. The watercolor features a brutal scene of pioneers, on their way west in a covered wagon, being attacked by Native American warriors in headdresses; the wagon features a whiskey barrel in front and a moon in the dark night sky. The artist’s hallmark is featured in the bottom left hand corner. The condition of this framed artwork is good, with no obvious signs of damage. The measurements of this framed watercolor on paper are 18 1/2" x 20 1/2" and the visible are measures 9 1/2" x 12 1/4". The piece has an almost ledger art like composition and is truly a unique scene and work of art dating to the 1800's.
