The lot features an early Plains bow with beaded bowcase and quiver from the ex-Robert Jerich collection. The set shows tanned hides with early sinew sewn glass trade seed beads in a geometric design showing colors of greasy yellow, greasy green, cobalt, red white heart, chalk white, and light blue. The bowcase / bow case and quiver sheath shows tanned hides with frilly fringes having a carved wood old support having red trade clothe wrappings. The back of the bow case has some cracking and wear through and the shoulder strap is present but has also come off from age. The hide is both soft and stiffen in some spots. The bow is an early example 1800’s carved with a sinew original early strand. This is a nice set. Provenance: From the ex-collection of Robert Jerich Illinois; From a former Cowan’s Auction; From a former March in Montana Auction with auction tag. Bowcase and quiver measure 54-inches wide by 24-inches high, bow measures 44.75-inches long.
