Featured in this lot is this Plenty Coups "Chief of the Crows," by Lyle E. Johnson circa 1998. The bronze depicts chief Plenty Coups riding atop his horse in full dress. A self taught sculptor, Lyle E. Johnson is a complex amalgam of talent and motivation. He enjoys a profound love for his country and its people. Born to a pioneer family on the Ute Reservation in the Uintah Basin country of northeast Utah. The bronze is signed on the base of the bronze and is numbered 21/100. The edition of 100 was sold with the proceeds going to fund the life sized monument in Red Lodge, Montana. The bronze shows a plaque on the front of the hardwood base. The condition of this bronze is fair some damage to the spear (end missing) but besides the spear in good overall condition. The measurements of this bronze are 15 1/4" x 12" x 5 1/8".
