Featured in this lot is an original tightly woven gathering basket from the Pomo Native American Indians of the California Coast. The basket, which dates to the 19th Century, is considered to be a seed gathering basket and shows a fine well preserved condition for its early age. The Pomo Indian culture is famed for its tradition of intricate basketry. Provenance: From a large Native American artifact and weapons collection in Paola, Kansas. Measures 6" diameter by 3"H.
