Featured in this lot we have a framed Charles M. Russell print titled "Pony Raid". Charles Marion Russell (March 19, 1864 – October 24, 1926),also known as C. M. Russell, Charlie Russell, and "Kid" Russell, was an artist of the Old American West. Russell created more than 2,000 paintings of cowboys, Indians, and landscapes set in the Western United States and in Alberta, Canada, in addition to bronze sculptures. Known as 'the cowboy artist', Russell was also a storyteller and author. The print displays a group of three Indian braves on horseback as they herd a group of horses. The first brave is shown riding a white horse and wearing beaded pants. He is depicted resting a lever action rifle in his arms as he looks over his shoulder, while the other two braves herd the horses. The print shows wonderful use of color and Russells excellent art style. The piece is signed in the bottom left hand corner reading "C.M. Russell". The piece is set into a wood frame and shows a presentation tag across the back. The piece shows good condition overall with little to no wear. The frame measures 16 1/2" wide by 12 1/2" tall with the art measuring 13 1/4" wide by 9 1/4" tall.
