Presented in this lot is a Limited Edition, Signed Giclee on Canvas, "Power and Grace", by Paco Young, #4/95. Ray (Paco) Young’s subjects were almost entirely derived from trips to nearby Yellowstone, Grand Teton and Glacier National Parks. He once said, “There’s an endless source of inspiring subject matter in the Northern Rockies. Reflecting a level of maturity that comes from years of passionate work and dedication, Young’s paintings evolved into a painterly style well-suited to convey the wild beauty of his surroundings. During a career that spanned more than 20 years, Young exhibited at hundreds of gallery and museum shows including the Leigh Yawkey Woodson Art Museum, C.M. Russell Museum, Gilcrease Museum and the Trailside Galleries. The National Park Service commissioned him to do a painting of Old Faithful, the famous geyser in Yellowstone National Park. Young’s 4' x 6' original oil has now been permanently installed over the grand fireplace at the historic Old Faithful Inn. Young was also commissioned by the National Park Service to complete a 8 X 6 foot painting of a standing grizzly for the Lewis and Clark Interpretative Center in Nebraska City, Nebraska. Raised in a family of musicians in Nashville, Tennessee, wildlife painter Paco Young opted for a profession of art instead of music. He earned a BFA from the Memphis Academy of Arts and became a highly successful wildlife and landscape painter. For ten years, his studio was in Atlanta, Georgia where he did traditional wildlife painting, but in 1994, he and his family moved to land on the Gallatin River near Bozeman, Montana. There he avidly pursued fly fishing, and his painting was directed to the landscape, especially winter scenes. Young discovered his passion for plein air landscape painting while living in Montana. Paco Young's paintings are noted for his use of light and his ability to capture an animal in his natural landscape. This limited edition giclee on canvas is in excellent condition, mounted on a wooden stretcher, no marring noted. Measures 30"W x 48"L
