Featured in this lot are 1926, marked North and Judd Iron Spurs shown pre-August Buermann. There are two spur pairs in this collection. These spurs show the original early spur straps to one of the pairs and the iconic North and Judd maker’s mark on the base of the spurs neck. The company was started in 1832 as the North Company in New Britain, Connecticut, which made “saddlery hardware” and “tried to satisfy the needs of the rider”. The business grew quickly and was a supplier to the U.S. army during the Civil War, again during the Spanish-American war, and even during the first World War. The condition of this set of spurs is good, with a nice patina adorning the spurs, showing their age. The measurements of this collection are 3/4" x 3 3/4" x 8" from spur strap to rowel and 1 3/8" x 4" x 5 7/8".
