Featured in this lot is this gigantic, Pre Colombian red basalt pestle. This artifact is a large red basalt pestle grinding stone with a unique constructed prong arm and rough tubular shape to the nose. The pre-Columbian era incorporates all period subdivisions in the history of the Americas before the appearance of significant European influences on the American continent, spanning the time of the original settlement in the Upper Paleolithic period to European colonization during the Early Modern period. The condition of this pair of Pre Colombian artifacts is good for their age. The measurements of the pestle are 25 1/2" L x 7 1/2" W x 5 1/2" H.
