Featured in this lot we have a set of three pre-historic stone encased Trilobite fossils. The Trilobites where the predecessors to the horseshoe crab and died off at the end of the Paleozoic era. The set consists of three sections of rock that are split in half to reveal the Trilobite fossilized on the interior. The Trilobites are split into a top and bottom sections with the bottom section holding most of the fossil. The stone shows a light grey color contrasting with the rust brown of the fossils. These impressive fossils show good condition overall with one showing some minor cracks on the rock. The largest of the fossils measures 9 1/2" long by 7 3/4" wide with the Trilobite itself measuring 7 1/4" long by 6 1/2" wide.
