Featured in this lot is this pristine 5.04 carat tanzanite diamond and platinum ring with AIGL paperwork. The ring features a polished, stamped and tested platinum ring with a bright finish and is stamped 'Orianne' and is stamped PT950 next tot he hallmark. The ring features a oval modified brilliant cut tanzanite stone with measurements of 12.1 x 9.6 x 6.6mm with violetish blue color and a very good cut grade with a total weight of 5.04 carats. Tanzanite is a very rare precious gemstone that is only found in the Usumburu Mountains that border the Umba Valley of northern Tanzania. It was originally discovered in 1967 by Tiffany & Company, who named the stone Tanzanite. This example is unique due to its exceptional pleochroism (an optical phenomenon in which a stone has different colors when observed at different angles). The center stone is profusely decorated with a double halo decoration of a total of 82 round brilliant cut diamonds measuring 1.1 - 1.5mm and show s a VS2 - SI2 clarity grade and G - H color gradient and a total weight of 0.85 carats. The piece comes complete with AIGL Inc.(American International Gemological Laboratories, Inc. a GIA certified lab AIGL#: K51E96-EA16406) report and appraisal confirming the above info and giving a total value of $13,510.00.
