Excellent Queen Anne Mahogany 3-Door Bookcase said to be from the former estate of a former United States Senator from North Carolina. Provenance: From the Ladder Ranch & Diamond Bar Seven in Big Timber, Montana. The bookcase was purchased by the ranch from the family who owned the piece since the late 1800’s who had the piece which went on loan to a former U.S. Senator. Queen Anne furniture originated and evolved during the reign of William III of England (1689-1702), but the term predominantly describes decorative styles from the mid-1720’s to early 1800’s. This piece shows a three-glass door case with raised center door having a nice curved set of legs with prominent carved crown molding and detailed gingerbread carved molding. The doors each have a brass original lock totaling three. The doors are currently locked, and shelves are not present. The cabinet, which is from the 19th Century, shows an overall good condition with some signs of use and wear. Overall measures 70 1/2" H, 58 1/2" W, 16" D. Book shelf, Book case, Bookcase, Bookshelf.
