Featured in this lot is a collection of three (3) western cowboy books. The first book is titled, "Branded" by Robert Ames Bennet. This book is a hardback copy with blue canvas and gold gilt lettering on the front cover. The book is in fair condition with part of the spine torn and the front cover loosely connected. The interior pages are in good condition. It measures 7 1/2" L x 5 1/4" W x 1 1/4" D. The second book is titled, "Cowboy Slang" by Edgar R. Potter and illustrated by Ron Scofield. The book includes cowboy slang and phrases, how to read brands, the rules of a rodeo and more. The front cover features two cowboys kneeling in the dirt with a horse and the mountains in the background. The book is in good condition overall with slight wear to the cover. The interior pages are in good condition with no signs of foxing. It measures 10" L x 7" W x 3/8" D. The third book in this collection is titled, "The American Cowboy - In Life and Legend" by Bart McDowell and photographs by William Albert Allard. This book traces the colorful, sometimes violent, history of the cattle industry from its beginnings in Mexico to the present. You will follow cowpunchers driving their longhorn herds up famous trails - Chisholm, Western, Goodnight-Loving - and meet the men who pioneered them. More than 100 photographs by William Albert Allard and scores of other illustrations enliven this book. The book is in good condition overall with wear and slight tears to the front dust cover. the original hardcover is in good condition and shows a red cloth with an embossed image of a cowboy on horseback. The interior pages are in good condition. The book measures 10" L x 7" W x 7/8" D.
