Featured in this lot is this color reprint of original photograph from American artist R. H. McKay born in 1880 and died in 1965. The photograph features a wonderfully and professionally crafted construction that shows a panoramic scene of Flathead Lake through the trees and showing a sunset in the distance and reflecting off the water. The back is marked as follows: Sunset on Flathead Lake - Eastern Shore of Flathead. Rollin H. McKay was a Missoula, Montana, photographer during the first half of the twentieth century. His extensive collection of images document western Montana from 1900 to 1940. The Repository of his works are housed at University of Montana, Mansfield library, Archives and Special Collections. They are available for view online. His original photos are rarely available to the public.
The condition of this photograph shows some wear to the paint of the frame but otherwise shows the photograph in well preserved condition. The measurements of this photograph is 8 3/8" x 12 1/4" and the visible artwork measures 6 3/8" x 10 3/8".
