This lot includes an Original Signed Limited Edition Lithograph, "Raiding The Cache", by Ron S. Parker, #464/950, 1982. Parker's own description of this piece states, "The Douglas squirrel, or chickaree as it is often called, is a close relative of the red squirrel... are found only on the Pacific Coast west of the Cascades. Hoarders by nature, chickarees store and eat quantities of seeds of trees, mushrooms and berries." A well known Canadian wildlife artist, painter, sculptor and printmaker, Ronald S. Parker's mediums include oils, acrylics, watercolors, gouache, serigraph, bronze and limited edition prints. His most well-known works are realistic paintings of wildlife (primarily mammals and birds) in their habitat. Eleven articles have been written about Ron’s wildlife painting in national and international magazines and his paintings have been reproduced in three books: From the Wild published by Somerset, Voices from the Wild and Rocky Mountain Wildlife, both published by Raincoast books. The details and colours in this lithograph depicting both the squirrel and the tree bark are striking and vivid. No marring was noted. The professionally double-matted textured and stained deep well shadow box wood frame is in good overall condition, very slight scuffing noted to the edges. Visible art measures 10"W x 14.5"L, frame is 22.75"W x 26.75"L.
