In this lot is a collection of three REA badges and thirteen different types of shipping ephemera. First is a large enamel, red and white REA badge with employee # 80980; the badge measures 1 7/8" X 1 1/2". The other two have wings on the red triangle with “air express” written on them. These pins are 1" X 3/8". The REA forms and stickers include "Register Of Shipments" booklet, "receipt For Charges" booklet, To and From labels booklet, carbon sheet for "Undeliverable Shipment" form, "Fragile" stickers, "Perishable" stickers, "Hatching Eggs" stickers, "Record Of Attention Given Live Shipment", "On Hand Delivery Sheet", "Brief Of Information For Collection By Railway Express Agency, Inc", "Brief of information For C.O.D. Shipment", "REA Express Prepaid delivery Sheet", "C.O.D. Envelope", and small envelopes. The Railway Express Agency (REA) was a national package delivery service that operated in the United States from 1918 to 1975. REA arranged transport and delivery via existing railroad infrastructure to ensure the rapid and safe movement of parcels, money, and goods during World War I. The shipping ephemera ranges in size from 9 1/2" X 4" to 5" X 2 3/4". All these items are in very good condition, with just slight color change on the paper items.
