For your consideration is a Rare 18th Century French Provincial Louis XV Oak Buffet Sideboard. The eighteenth century is considered the Golden age of French furniture. It was during this time that the most refined and beautiful Royal furniture was made in the busy Paris workshops of Europe's elite cabinet makers. Beautifully crafted and showcasing naturally aged patina on the wood finish, the buffet sideboard features a three-plank top, fronted by three carved asymmetrical drawers and two intricately carved asymmetrical front doors with original brass knobs, escutcheons hardware and metal hinges. A carved centre arched panel separates the doors. The doors have a working lock mechanism with one key. The doors reveal shelves for divided storage space. With nicely carved side panels, the buffet sideboard stands on period block feet. Excellent quality with superb craftsmanship, the buffet sideboard is in wonderfully preserved condition, insect damage to backboards, some splits, scratches and minor fading to three-board top, nicely finished. Measures 24.5"D x 68"W x 40.25"H and weighs 238 pounds.
