For your consideration is this collection of 278 Roman coins. This collection includes many different sized and shaped coins from the Roman empire and surrounding areas. Money, the foundation of any modem economy, was a concept invented by the ancient Greeks and then revolutionized by the Romans. Modern coins the world over still incorporate design features made standard by Roman emperors. This collection features some larger coins showing some symbols poking through the years of sediment and being underground. Some of the coins show magnetic properties from refining bronze from other ores. There is one pure silver coin but shows no markings. The largest coin measures 1 1/16" in diameter and the smallest ones measure around 2/8" in diameter. The silver coin measures 5/8" in diameter.
