For your consideration are seven ancient loose Bohemian faceted cane glass trade beads. The beads would have been worn by a Chief and show eight faced barrel shaped, cane glass with a unique variety of colors including; aqua, yellow, opaque white, dark red, black, green, and cobalt. African glass "Trade Beads" of European origin came into existence when European Traders along the route between Europe and Africa were pressed for an acceptable currency form to exchange on African soil. Brightly colored glass beads with exotic shapes and intricate patterns fit extremely well as the most desirable trade material due to the popular demand that African Cultures had for luxurious and unusual adornment. These rare beads are from the 19th to early 20th century. The bead show signs of wear due to age. These beads range in length form 3 1/2" to 4 3/4" and 2" to 2 5/8" in circumference.
