For your consideration is a rare Buddy L Steel Pressed Open Cab Dump Truck. The early American toy was manufactured circa 1926-1930 and shows a black painted body with metal colored red wheels. Buddy L was founded by Fred A. Lundahl in 1910 as Moline Pressed Steel Company. They made parts fo McCormick-Deering and International Harvester Company. Buddy L Moline Pressed steel began making pressed steel toys in circa 1921 with the story being that founder Fred A. Lundahl wanted to make something new, different, and durable for his son Arthur. He then designed and produced a reportedly model of an International Harvester from 18 and 20 guage steel from the company's scrap pile. This piece is in original paint showing surface rust and age throughout. The dump mechanism is in working order, along with the back wheels. The front axle is broken and this piece is perfect restoration. The truck measures 26 1/2" overall with a 15" dump bed.
