This is a fabulous and rare circa 1895-1938 Roycroft hammered copper and gumwood “Goodie” box from a prominent New England Estate collection. The box has the original signature / hallmark / mark on the top from the Roycroft, a group of artisans from Aurora, New York who were at the leading edge of the Arts and Crafts Movement in the late-1800’s to early-1900’s. The box is constructed of a thick mahogany / gumwood with lap joints and nails as well has hand hammered copper corner braces and latch. These Roycroft, authentic signed boxes are highly collectible with some examples selling at auction for as high as $3,250 (w/ bp) from Rago in 2011. The condition of this "Goodie" box is well preserved with no obvious signs of damage and shows a well preserved overall condition. The measurements of this "Goodie" box is 9 3/4" x 12 1/2" x 25 1/2".
