Offered in this lot is a Rare Antique Cabinet Card "Our Country's Martyrs", by Bushnell, circa 1885-1890. Provenance: Tombstone Western Heritage Museum, Tombstone, Arizona. The cabinet card features oval portraits of Presidents Garfield and Lincoln, the two United States presidents who had been assassinated. Lincoln was assassinated by Confederate sympathizer John Wilkes Booth five days after the Confederate surrender at Appomattox, Virginia in 1865. Garfield died two months after being shot in Washington D.C. by the delusional clinical psychopath Charles J. Guiteau. The cabinet card has the text in gold gilt, the presidents labeled by their last names. Publisher / photographer name is on the bottom left corner. Edges are gold gilt, museum code on reverse, "ML24". Measures 4.25"W x 6.5"L. Clear protective sleeve is 4.5"W x 8.875"L. Combined weight is U6.
