Offered for sale is a wonderful Colt Model 1849 .31 Caliber Percussion Pocket Revolver dating to circa 1856. The revolver features a 4" octagon barrel, 6 shot cylinder, walnut grips, and brass back strap and trigger guard. This is one of Coltó»s most popular designs that was large enough for aimed fire, but small enough to conceal in a waste band or unobtrusive holster. These six shot revolvers found favor with Civil War officers and enlisted men as personal weapons. This revolver has matching serial numbers on the frame, trigger guard, barrel and cylinder. It is correctly marked ADDRESS COL. SAML COLT NEW YORK CITYó along with COLTó»S PATENTó on the left side of the frame. Nice overall aged patina metal with fine walnut grips and brass back strap and trigger guard, shows good mechanical condition as well. This revolver has a pre-Civil War manufacture date of 1856. It is a antique firearm. NO FFL transfer or NICS background check required. The serial number is 125739. Finish is blue, case hardened silver.
