For your consideration is this vintage Winchester repeating rifles advertising poster. The Winchester Repeating Arms Company was a prominent American maker of repeating firearms, located in New Haven, Connecticut. This poster is an ad for two repeating indicating "two shots a second" with a long description for potential use and quality of the repeating rifles highlighting advantages and benefits. There are two illustrations of the rifles at the top under the ad title. There is also a featured items and price list with copy reading "Rifle with varnished stock & sling, $50 / Carbine with oiled stocks without slings, $40 / cartridges, per 1000 / Sling for Carbines: $2.50 / Leather cases, $6 - $7.50 / Extra finish with plating and engraving will cost from $60-100" There is alos a cautionary statement at the bottom and "Manufactured by the Winchester Repeating Arms CO., New Haven, Conn. O.P. Davis, Sec'y. O.F. Winchester, Pres't." This poster measures 11.5x18 inches and is preserved for shipping and handling in a removable laminate cover and poster back.
